About Our Founder
Jose A. de la Cruz spent his early childhood in a communist country, followed by a few years as a refugee in a fascist European nation. He is fortunate that his family believed in America and brought him to live in the USA where he experienced merit-based educational achievement and belief in the American work ethic.
As a practicing industrial/commercial Architect and Construction Manager, his professional goals were altered when the World Trade Center was attacked on September 11, 2001. That day awakened a deep desire to secure our built environment. America was vulnerable to attacks from enemies’ intent to cause insufferable harm and destruction. Since that attack crime has intensified. Today schools, malls, hospitals, embassies, historical buildings, hotels, transportation hubs and a multitude of other public spaces have become targets.
Since 2001, as CEO of Quorum Management Services, Inc. [a Silicon Valley Corporation] Jose has endeavored, not only to make buildings more accessible, but also to create more intelligent ways to make facilities less vulnerable to crime. In the process, he has spent many years forging relationships with AEC, MEP, Security, and IT firms that are increasingly important partners in providing effective technical solutions.
Through TEKTON Consultants, Inc. Jose focuses on enhancing architectural compositions so that they are less of a physical target; enabling their occupants to experience an increased feeling of safety.
